Solitude

Solitude, blue reflections of me
Forgotten dreams, only reflections I see.
You open the door to my heart, then leave.
Footprints remain forever I believe!

Promises made, only to be broken
Echoes in my heart of words unspoken.
Try as I may, I cannot forget.
Looking back, with heartfelt regret.

Silently I pray so deeply I feel.
In search of whispered words that heal.
An unseen helping hand, a look of love
My solitary prayer to God above

Solitude, my future destiny I fear.
A broken heart, an unshed tear!
Footprints inprinted in my heart forever
Never to be erased, not now...
not ever!

Solitude is something we all need from time to time.
To be able to sit and reflect on our past.
Just to be alone and be able to remember back
to both happy and sad times, we will often find even
the sad times had happy moments too.
