With that beaming and ever ready smile
Phyl could charm the birds in the trees
Her great charisma could enchant you
Her wicked sense of humour bring you to your knees

Phyl was a larger than life character
Forever playing the clown
She had a gift for bringing smiles and laughter
To anyone feeling troubled and down

She was a natural born storyteller
A shining star on center stage
Her much loved antics and fantasy stories
Captivating children and adults of all age

Phyl would often infuriate you
And could be frustrating beyond belief
She constantly battled depression
In her fight to overcome deep sorrow and grief

She dreamed of a world over the rainbow
A place where there was no darkness or night
She dreamed of leaving the dark clouds behind her
And finding her way into the light

Phyl's dream has now taken her over her rainbow
To a place where the skies are ever blue
At last reunited with her beloved husband Bill
In their love that has been forever true

Goodbye and God Bless you my friend
Memories will remain forever
in my heart

Phyl was a larger than life character and a friend
for over thirty years. She was a talented writer and journalist
and mother to three wonderful children, Rebecca, William and Polly.
I was asked sometime ago to describe Phyl but could not find the words.
Above in a poem I have written as a tribute to Phyl I hope
I have come close
