I'm Only Me

My friend, I'm only me
You were expecting something more?
Well, let me tell you a few things,
You may not have known before.

I'm just a simple little lady
Not much to brag about.
But I don't drink and run around
Or yell, or scream and shout.

I try to live a peaceful life
In my very own simple way.
Doing the best that I can do,
As I go from day to day.

My smile is always ready
For the friends I love so dear.
And I'm always there for them,
Though they be far or near.

So if you have a question,
Of who I am, or who I might be.
Just look beneath the surface,
And you'll learn, I'm only me.
