The Night Owl

Night closes in, soft moonbeams light the sky
Silence surrounds us, echoes whisper in the breeze.
The Night Owl appears from deep within the shadows
Proudly perching, way up high in the trees.

Our Owl, such a beautiful creature of the night
So alert as he preens under the soft glow of the moon
Eyes forever watchful, so round and so bright
So warm and glowing, like sunshine at noon.

Darkness surrounds us, and the world is asleep
As our owl awakens, bringing life to the night.
No other sounds to be heard, only his distinctive call
And the beat of his wings, as suddenly he takes flight.

Soaring so high, so graceful and serene
Swooping, with purposeful movement in his wings
Any of us lucky enough to have witnessed this sight
Will know the magic our Night Owl brings.
