London's City Lights

Looking over my shoulder at the city lights
Shining as far as the eye can see.
I watch the boats glide on the river "Thames"
Feel the magic of London calling me.

This city is filled with historic memories
Its architecture nowhere else to be found
I stroll on along the embankment
Listening to "Big Ben's" magical sound.

On to the golden lights of "Westminster"
Shining like stars in the night
Their bright array reflected on the "Abbey"
To me is a truly magnificent sight

I see the famous "Houses of Parliament"
With its classic beauty lighting up London's sky
No architecture on earth can match it
No matter how hard they try.

Up ahead the famous "London Bridge"
With its lights glinting on the water below
I hear tug boats tooting their horns
In recognition of other boats they know.

Onward I walk towards St.James Park
Magnificently situated in the heart of the city
I see lakes filled with ducks and geese
To miss them would surely be a pity.

Down "The Mall" to "Buckingham Palace"
This is the home of our "Queen"
Here I see lights of red, white and blue
Enclosing the palace in a multi-colour sheen.

I feel at peace here in London town
With its foggy days and brightly lit nights
Here at last I've found my roots
On the embankment amidst the city lights.

The City of London is truly a magnificent place. The architecture
dates back hundreds of years and its classic beauty cannot
be matched anywhere in the world.
At night the buildings and bridges come alive lighting up the sky.
They make such a beautiful and romantic sight.
