I'll leave the light on in the window
For when you're ready to come home
I know the highway was calling you
And you just had to roam.
Wanderlust took hold so tight
And led you far,far away
But I'll be here waiting for you
With the light on night and day.
The lamp in the window is shining
Here near my empty arms
My prayer is that you will hurry home
And travel without any harm.
My love is strong enough for the waiting
My heart is faithful and true
So while you're finding your way back to me
I'll leave the light on in the window for you.
