Imagine

Imagine how good life would be
If we always had something nice to say.
The joy a quick "hello" could bring
Instead of turning away.

Imagine if we had a world of peace
With no more wars to be won..
There would be no more mothers shedding tears
For a killed in action son

Imagine if all people joined together
No matter their colour or creed.
Now what a giant achievement that would be
A massive step forward indeed!

Imagine if all God's creatures
Were left alone to roam free.
They would be living in their natural habitat
The way God intended them to be.

Imagine if every small child
Was born into a loving, stable home.
Perhaps they'd grow up feeling safe and secure
And not feel the need to roam.

Imagine if so many elderly
Were no longer left on their own to die.
Maybe their final days would be happier
And they'd laugh instead of cry.

Imagine if on our dying day
We knew we'd always strived to do our best.
Surely this would bring us peace
As we lay our souls to rest.

This page and poem was inspired by the song "Imagine"
written and sung by the very talented John Lennon.
It is a simple but very beautiful song.
This is my tribute to his memory.
