Bottoms Up

We can see you humans staring at us
From the bank way over there.
Have you never seen a Mallard drake
With his bottom in the air?

Bottoms up is how we manage
To forridge for our food
So we ask you please not to think
We are playing at being rude.

We are just a pair of Mallards
Trying hard to survive
Sifting through the mud for insects
To enable us to stay alive.

So next time you go to a restaurant
To order a tasty meal
If you see duck on the menu
Remember bottoms up are for real.

We are one of very many creatures
Living here under the sun
Remember all of us placed on this earth
God made each and every one.

There are so many beautiful creatures on this earth.
We must always appreciate each and everyone of them.
They have as much right to live in peace as we do. They were
not put here to be hunted down and shot. But more
to enhance the beauty in our lives.
