Blame

Don't look at me so serious
I'm not trying to shame you.
I didn't say it was your fault
I said I was going to blame you.

You sit around so innocently
You're such a goody two shoes.
And if something breaks I look at you
Now what have I got to lose?

I'm just a ball of energy
A bouncy four year old.
And while you stay so calm and quiet
I am frisky and bold.

Dad is lying on the floor
Under the fallen Christmas tree
When he gets up I'll run and hide
For I know he'll want to blame me.

Mum thinks that I am a sweetie
And I don't want to deceive her.
But if she says it wasn't my fault
Surely Dad will believe her.

But you are still my best buddy
I follow you everywhere.
Snuggling up close and personal
In my own way I show you I care.

So when Santa comes to visit
We'll both be as good as can be.
And you will show your cheery smile
For everyone to see.

Poppy and Bob are Kaye and Roy's two wonderful
black Labrador companions. They are delightful and so very loveable.
Bob is the serious one of the two and often the brunt of Poppy's
funny little antics. Yet they are totally devoted to each other and their family.
